Field Service Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer/Technician to join a well-tenured team supporting customer technical support and Field service repairs for regional accounts in NY, NJ, CT, PA, RI, NH, MA, DE, and MD. Our client is a leading manufacturer and distributor of diagnostic instrumentation.
The Field Service Engineer/Technician will be responsible for traveling, installing, training, troubleshooting, repairing and performing preventive maintenance on all company diagnostic instrumentations on-site and off-site.
The Field Service Engineer/Technician will provide excellent customer service face-to-face and telephonically.
Provide telephone support responding to customer inquiries, providing technical support, assist with training, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Evaluate new test systems, make recommendations and assist in developing and writing test procedures, standard operations protocol, and develop training material.
Solid knowledge of medical instrument systems technology to include mechanical, electrical and fluidics. Knowledge of chemistry and software is a plus.
BS in EE, Biomedical Engineering strongly preferred (AS level or highly qualified non-degreed candidates may be considered)
3+ years of experience of servicing clinical diagnostic and laboratory equipment
Familiar with equipment and tools such as: soldering irons, digital volt meters, power supplies, temperature measurement equipment, Etc.
Ability to disassemble, troubleshoot and re-assemble instrument sub-assemblies.
25-30% regional travel 200 mile radius
Must be able to assist with lifting and transporting equipment of up to 100 pounds.
Must be self-motivated with excellent communication skills, a team player, and the ability to operate with minimum supervision.
Excellent communication skills and be able to interface with customers and associates in a positive professional manner.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to think and act in a logical and methodical way.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and be able to utilize computer-based tools for reports, e- mail and for general communication.
Able to solve complex mechanical / system problems utilizing technical manuals, publications, and engineering support.
Support work hours 9:00 am - 6:00 pm (occasional OT and on-call support)

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
